Tank & access / Design study / RECESSED-SHELL-R2

Form follows the system.

The rectangular shell, repeated recesses and two dedicated access assemblies.

Retained development study. Dimensions, names and checks belong to this revision—not automatically to the retrofit-only product. Manufactured tank shells are deferred. No installation instruction, certification or manufacturing release is represented.

The source reasoning

Why this detail was investigated.

The surface is modeled in the vessel geometry. Its appearance does not establish structural strength, burial depth or a production material system.

Research record

The detail behind
the study.

Source-linked work for this revision. Reported checks describe the stated model or test; physical qualification and applicability to the current retrofit remain separate.

Graphite surfaces. Ordered recessed panels. One continuous orange signature. The revised tank carries the Subfield design language into the actual assembly.

Inside the revised shell.

The section shows the permanent partitions and retained equipment. The complete STEP contains the uncut assembly.

The surface, resolved in geometry.

The envelope is 3102 x 2101 x 1850 mm. Lower apertures are 400 x 600 mm with 40 mm recess depth; upper apertures are 400 x 220 mm with 30 mm recess depth. Both use a nominal 2 mm normal-offset skin and 10 mm shoulder blends. The floor and lower transition remain 3 mm. These are study dimensions, not a qualified laminate or a production tolerance.

Fourteen partition perimeter bodies were replaced by fourteen separate face, bond and solid-closeout bodies. Central hydraulic geometry, retained frame, both access systems, handling saddles, port interfaces and authentic supplier level geometry remain in the full STEP. Supplier face graphs are preserved by the controlled export pipeline. The earlier 350 mm access and spherical panel models are not this revision.

All 232 CAD tests, 6 shell checks, 45 partition/transport checks, 54 complete-tank fit/export checks and 7 drawing geometry checks passed. The full STEP was reimported and every body checked. This evidence verifies nominal geometry and transport, not structural strength, tooling feasibility or manufacture.

Three renders and packed native Blender scenes were made from current CAD meshes. The cutaway is an explicitly sectioned presentation model; the full STEP is uncut. STEP dimensions are mm; Blender uses metres. Orange band and exact brand artwork are presentation materials, not STEP geometry or a coating specification. No GLB is supplied for this revision because its procedural finish has not been qualified for faithful interchange.

Inventory contains three spatial cells, level-volume CSV/JSON and six geometric void STEP files. It distinguishes gross interior, modeled-material displacement, and an additional assumed sealed-envelope case for 39 verified structural tubes. These are not usable capacity, operating setpoints, a certified 2000-gallon rating or emergency reserve. Internal flooding, connectivity, trapped gas, sludge/scum, missing equipment and process sizing remain unresolved.

Read ENGINEERING-REVIEW.md for the changed shell's unresolved load analysis, laminate, tooling, chemical barrier, tolerances and bond process. Previous spherical-shell formulas and earlier single-opening roof studies do not qualify this geometry. No burial, traffic, lifting, lifetime, cost or production-weight rating is issued. The 500 lb whole-tank objective remains unmet by the prior complete mass accounting; this package has not established a new production weight.

The complete 150-scope ledger remains 51 partial concepts, 63 not modeled, 31 deferred and 5 non-geometric. All release_ready fields are false. This is a manufacturer review package; it is not a fabrication release.
